How to get an even extruded pattern around cylinder

I have created a cylinder using Sculpt and made small width adjustments. I want to create a pattern around it with small square extrusions (as below) but they are slighltly slanted on one side as you can see below, how can I have them be more consistent and evencyli3.JPGcyli2.JPG

Just adding to initial question:

When I create a pattern I also get the bodies repeated internally but I only want to have the pattern on the surface

For what you've done some far, there really is not need for sculpt mode as these models are easier to do as solid models.

Hi,

Here is one solution.

Important is a double-sided extrusion, so that no gaps occur on the inside.

Hi,

First, as Peter said, this can be done easily in the model environment, there is no need for the sculpt environment

If the pattern didn't go correctly, the problem must be from the main body that the circular pattern was used on, the position must be slightly different of what it should be

I recommend you go back to the model environment, and try to create this there, and make sure that the position of the small piece that will be used as a pattern to be perfectly correct

If the position is done correctly it will give you the right result

A quick tip : create the cylinder to be centered at the origin, and for the position to be perfect, create the small piece from a sketch on one of the origin planes, then move it on one axis, that will give you a perfect position, so that the pattern has no issues

Regard
