3D Pattern where to study?

Good Morning,

I'm a user of Fusion 360, from Italy, I've learned all of I know of fusion on youtube and with a lot of video now i can draw something of interesting.

But i'm fascinated by the pattern 3d like this: Google Image But on youtube i haven't find nothing.

I've try with the pattern, but i'm not sure that i the correct way, i think that is something of parametric?

Yesterday i downloaded sketch vonoroi add in but, on curved surface i found a lot of problem and i dubt that i the correct mode.

So i'm not asking to teach me, but if you have some link to suggest me to learn.

Really thanks

Matteo

I hope somebody gives you a great answer, because I'd love to do this in fusion also.  I don't think your going to be able to get fusion to do a pattern as sophisticated as the pics you linked to.  Most of the really great work like this that I have seen was done with Rhino, using the grasshopper plugin.

The pattern tool can do some pretty cool things though.  Search through this forum, I've seen some great tips on using it here.  Try setting up a specific example using the pattern tool, and post the design here, someone will help you figure out how to get it working.

I haven't had a chance to play with the vonori add-in yet. but looks promising.

Some of them you can do, but only flat. If you want scaling of features while patterning, that cannot be done in Fusion 360.

If you want to wrap a pattern around a curved solid or have it adhere and stretch to a curved surface, that certainly cannot be done in Fusion 360.

There might be the occasional  case that can be done with a workaround but in general at the moment Fusion 360 is not the best tool for this kind of work.

Some of this can be done with other but more expensive CAD systems (ZW3D and Spaceclaim come to mind) but I'd prefer to use a Sub-D modeler for it.

In that case Blender is a good choice to start with. If you're ready to totally have your mind blown, check out Houdini.

With it's procedural and node based modeling approach it is an excellent choice for this work.
