How to fix the quality issues of my rendered images?

Hello people,

For the first time I'm doing renders for a client and I can't fix the low quality of my renders...

High resolution images (3200x1800) are coming with less than 1MB and clearly with some quality issues.

What do you think about the image below? Why the reflectance in the acrylic part is so pixelated?

And why, when you zoom the image to the actual size, it shows many quality problems?

Lighting, materials, and bevel/fillet your edges to you have highlights to reflect.

Large flat areas are not very interesting so use something that has a subtle bit of texture / bump map to give it some sense of depth. Light up the background some to the shape of the object is easier to read and again for some perception of depth.

If you get that right, then worry about noise 😉

I've found the same thing--  an object in a black hole doesn't look good.   I've been putting my small items on a wooden table, and the reflections give a much better sense of color and surface quality.

Judging the quality base on the file size doesn't make any sense. With such large areas of one color (e.g. black) the compression algorithm kicks in dramatically.... Save it as a bitmap and the file size will be 'giant' and so the quality is 'brilliant' 😉
