How to edit parametric settings - very basic learner level

Hi All,

I am a middle-aged personal maker who is trying learn F3d and was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue?

I downloaded a parametric box design and I have worked out how to use the parametric variables to modify height, width, depth etc, but am struggling with the how to do the internal dividers and layout. These options are not entered as variables that I can change but instead are done via an 'inside user sketch'. Unfortunately, I only see  a of of rectangles, only of of which shows dimensions or constraints and I have no idea how to change these. Any help or advice, or other places to try or what too search for would be greatly appreciated. I include a screenshot of the inside sketch in case any jumps out to someone.

THanks

You can simply use the Web feature, and the right way to do so is :

1- Create a top view sketch.

2- Create the lines that will create the Web, which by the way are single lines, because the web feature is going to take care of the thickness of the interior walls.

note : for this step it'll be a good idea to project the outside wall of the box so that you can constrain the lines to its projections, that way you'll be able to dimension it in regards to the box itself, so that when you change the box dimensions, the web feature (sketch lines) updates correctly as well.

@SaeedHamza described how to create a Web feature but if you would like further explanation about your existing model, you will have to attach it.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Thanks for the reply. I am keen to learn so as well as trying to look at other answers I have attached the file as suggested. I will reiterate that this is not not my file, but one I am looking to adapt and modify. It currently appears the internal design is for 10 slots (15x39). One is shown with dimensions and constraints and this appears to be mirrored somehow to the other 9. Sorry if my understanding is at such a low level?

Thanks

This model is not a very good one to copy as far as "good" modeling technique.  I explain some of the issues in the attached Screencast.  I also explain what you are seeing in the bottom component pockets.  The modeler used a single constrained sketch, which is good, but he then used a sketch pattern which is not the best modeling technique.  He should have extruded one, and then patterned the feature.  When you can, always pattern at the model or feature level.  Also the modeler did not use good technique in the placing of sketches in relation to the component.  I show you how a correct assembly should look in the Screencast with all the sketches, bodies and construction features located under the related component.  Take a look at this Forum post for more on this.
