How to design a more complex finger jointed box?

Id like to design an L-shaped wooden box whose parts are being connected using finger joints. The individual parts are supposed to be lasercut, that means 'everything' has to 'happen" in sketches since only those can be exported as DXF.

Id like the design to be parametric. I need to be able to quickly adapt the design to different wood thicknesses, more tight or loose joints, different outside dimensions and so on.

I do know the finger joint box designers like http://www.makercase.com/, but obviously their functionality is limited to simple boxes.

Do you have any suggestions or best practices for how to achieve this in Fusion 360?

Thank you

I'll respond to this in more detail later ( if I don't forget), but the sketches for the laser cutter are created the end rather than the beginning of the design workflow.

This will open up open up possibilities for designing the box as you are ot limited to put a lot of details, e.g. all the finger joints into sketches.
