How to Cut a Lip into the Sidewalls of a Box

I've created a box that is 1"x .375" x .250" with .032" thick walls. I would like to carve out a .02" x .032" lip around the edges to accommodate a lid. Can someone please help show me how to add a lip cutout to my box?

Hi @RickEDXN5,

I would use Sweep to cut the lip on your box.  The basic idea is to create a sketch, draw the profile of your lip, then use Sweep to cut that profile around the outside of the box.  Something like:

Hi Jeff,

Many thanks for your solution! I actually wanted to cut the lip you created but on the inside edge. I think your solution still works and will give it try now.

I really appreciate your help.

Best regards,

Rick
