How to create voids in a solid model B4 using Slicer to make it pages of th book

Hello

So I'm attempting to design a 3D drawing/model (pages w/o cover) that within it has the multiple voids for the shapes of objects that I hope to find a home within the book. The attachments should make this clearer.   I wish to use Slicer to be able to layout the pages where the voids will be for using our laser cutter using 1/5" luann to mimic the pages of the book and create the necessary spaces on each one..

One way to do this is to create your book body, then use the Split Body command to split it into multiple sections (pages).

Use a continuous zigzag line for the splitting tool.  You can create a sketch on the face of each section to outline your shapes or if you want 3d voids, put the 3d models inside the block, then Combine/Cut them.

hey, thanks for the reply to help me out.. I'm still stuck tho...
I'm not that well versed to know what the zip zag technique is.. I was
happy to "slice" my 3d block into the pages I feel comfortable working
within the laser cutter but lost attempting to create the voids
that correspond to the items I wish to, nest?
Here in the attach I had started this project by doing one 'page' at a time
but never found the way to stitch the pages all together...

Am i correct in trying to remove the space these items would otherwise
consume?

Thank you, Jason

Your file wasn't attached.

Here's one way of slicing the block and creating cutouts:

I'll try to upload my screens again in order to get your opinion on the method I've spent time on. I'm thinking I'm close, aside from the voids being in the model before bringing into Slicer...   And thank you for your method of reply. If I'm off track with my method I'll have your video to analyze at my own pace.. Not sure why my shots weren't in my prev reply but feel it's worth another try...  Here they are.  So the first one I had done page by page and brought in to fusion but found that method was going to be long and error rich.  If I'm close with what I've done so far, the method for which to layout the shape-voided model would be the sticking point where I need advice..

Thanks again  for your time..

Are you doing outlines of the objects or 3d pockets?  If you're doing outlines, then my screencast shows the way to do them.

Will you be laser cutting one page at a time or will you be nesting multiple pages?

That's exactly where I was stuck. But I'll be doing outlines now thanks to
you. Cheers
Yes, laser cutter/engraver at the makerspace I'm a member of. I plan on
laying the 10 pages out in one file and cut the pages as well as the shapes
on them from one sheet of luann. I've used the LC as well as Corel Draw and
Lasercut but not Slicer. Any advice looking forward?

Could you link me to the Screencast, you do have 600+ Cheers to that!!

Thanks again, I'll start looking there in the future 😃 Much easier than interpreting text when one is new.
