How to create two bodies from one?

I'm trying to create a model of a power pushbutton (Power button.jpg).  So far, I have Head v1 v2.f3d.  I started by creating a series of concentric circles on the YZ plane corresponding to the various sections you see on the face of the button.  In trying to create the LED ring, I negatively extruded the space between the ,45" diameter and .57" diameter circles, with the intention of making the resulting body a different material so it could be a different color.  It's still part of the original body, though, so how can I separate it?  Or, as more likely, is there a better way to do this?  Thanks for any tips.

You have cut the groove, and then you use the same profile to Extrude a New Body into the Cavity,

Change Extrude3 to include the center.  Add another extrude of just the center making it a new component (or new body).LEDLight.JPG

See Rule #1 (First sticky in the forum😀)
