How to create dowel pin?

I have a piece I'm working on that doesn't need to be in two parts but due to the size of my 3D printer, I'll have to print it in two parts and combine it together using some sort of dowel pin.

I've added a cylindrical extrusion on to one of the pieces and I'm struggling to find the best way to add the corresponding hole opposite? I feel I'm close in this regard and it would be easier to do them at the same time for a better chance at aligning?

P.S, I know there was probably a better way to angle the pin in to the other piece but I wasn't sure how to extrude and follow the path of the outer face instead 🙂

Thanks for any advice in advance!

@connor-allan

I recommend taking care of numerous other issues first.

Ready to start?

I would align symmetrical to the origin first (which begs the question, should this geometry be symmetrical?  A photo often has parallax error.).

Then I would Calibrate before doing any sketching.

It would be better to do this in your slicer.  Here's Bambu Studio using dowels to join:
