How to create an internal NPT 1/4"-18 from a defined starting point

Please see attached picture for reference.

 

I am trying to understand how to model an internal NPT thread 1/4"-18 from a defined starting point 1.04" inches from the top of the part on the inside. Fusion will not let me select an offset for an NPT thread. Any suggestion on how to model it so that in the manufacturing space I can select that thread face and select the tapping operation for it?

Ok, so there's no provision in the thread tool to offset the start of the thread. However, there are a couple of ways that I can think of to get around it. You could split the hole face at a given depth, then thread the portion below. Or you could use the hole tool, which gives you the option of setting a start depth for the thread. This doesn't appear to be an option for tapered threads though.

 

So the next issue is that Fusion doesn't come equipped with NPT in the parallel hole (for obvious reasons!) or the thread tools. If you don't actually need the thread to be "modelled", and a cosmetic thread is adequate then you could create (or download an existing) NPT thread file. I imagine that as long as you've got a thread (ideally with the correct designation) in there that the mfg workspace can pick up on then that's probably all you need. I'm not aware of an NPT thread file being available but for this application I would expect you could use one of the parallel pipe thread files that you can find on the forum. You just need to rename the designations from say NPSM to NPT. If you're tapping then I expect the Major, Pitch, and Minor diameters will be ignored.
