How to create a stamped depression

Hi All-

I know how to revolve a sketch and create a hole in the side of the pipe, but how can I duplicate this "stamped-in" look that was probably stamped first, then drilled and tapped for a screw?

Any ideas?

I would attempt that with a T-Spline cylinder and with sufficient loops edges push 5he depression.

I std modelling, cut an elliptical hole, and Loft it to an internal point,

or Revolve a curve with surface feature to Thicken, and

fillet the joined edge, before the drilling.

Might help...

Attached are a couple of examples.

If you have the tool that makes the feature, you can use the dimensions of the tool to define the feature.

This should give you some ideas.

Hi,

You mention if I have the "tool".

What tool are you referring to?

Thanks for the help.
