How to create a plane tangent to any curved surface

Hi all,

I'm Giovanni Romeo, from Italy. I'm new to Fusion.

I want to create a construction plane tangent to the curved surface (or it's called curved face?) of a body. That body is not a sphere nor a cylinder, it's just a body with a "complex" curved shape. I want to be able to put that tangent plane in any point of that complex curved shape while mantaining tangency.

I know that the "Tangent plane" command works only for cylinders or similar.

How can I do that?

Many thanks,

Giovanni Romeo

How about creating a line and using the tangent constraint to make it tangent to the surface.  Then you can choose 'Construct' - 'Plane at angle' and select the tangent line.  You change the angle of the plane by using the on-screen widget.

The "plane tangent to face at point" will work on any surface.  Pick the face, then pick the point.  The point doesn't have to be on the surface, but it makes the most sense to me if it is.

You do have to have a point though.  You can either place one along existing geometry, like an edge, or project one to the surface from another sketch using "project to surface."

I'll try what laughingcreek says ASAP.
Many thanks,
