How to create a DXF export of multiple parts in one DXF file

Hi folks, I'm trying to create a dxf of the parts to cut out for this butterfly.

butterfly-1.png

When I create flat pattern in sheet metal (before I extruded away all the parts on this separate rectangle part) all I would get is the rectangle without the other geometries removed.  Now that I have removed the parts that I want to cut out I can't select anything on it as the stationary face to get to a flat pattern. I want to keep the parts nested the way they sit currently and if I create separate dxf's for each part then I would have to re-nest them into one again, so I am asking for help. 🙂

Create a sketch on the face as you have it there.

Save as DXF.

Depending on Preferences, the major face would be projected by you or Fusion, you will need to project the missing islands yourself.

Might help….

Hi, I had already tried this and for whatever reason it didn't work for me.  I eventually exported each one separately and let the cutting software arrange them into as small of a box as it could with a bit of manual help on my end.
