how to copy a sketch

hi, can one tell me how to copy or duplicate a sketch? thanks jr

1. Right-click on the sketch you want to copy
2. Click the 'Edit Sketch' option from the dropdown
3. Select the sketch components you want to copy
4. Press Ctrl+C --OR-- right click and select 'Copy'
5. Click' Finish Sketch'
6. Create another sketch on the plane of your choice
7. Within the new sketch, press Ctrl+V --OR-- right click and select 'Paste'

Before the how, you need to answer the question for what purpose a sketch should be copied.

this may be an other topic: heres what I do: I make a piece of furniture and model in 3d. I then split body to 3 inchs and lay out on bed. Layout 1 has the two leg assemblys, identical profiles yet layed out across from eachother.

I have found due to flaws in the design process that I can not just select a 2d contour cleanly I make many alt selections to complete the edge cut or contour. I now sketch the outline of my body and then select the sketch for the 2d contour operation in one click.

so I look at design and say instead of making 2 sketches just copy. JR
