How to connect individual splines in a sketch

I've created a spline with multiple points.  I offset that spline to create a copy  The result is a simplified (fewer segments) version of the original.   But they are individual segments, unconnected to each other.  I want a single connected spline, which is not what I am getting.

Is there 1) a way to force the offset command to make the created spline have as many individual points as the original, instead of simplifying the curve?  And 2)  a way to connect the individual splines to form a single spline?

My goal is to make a ring which I can then extrude.  Since the offset splines are not connected, it doesn't work.

Any suggestions?   Thanks!

you do not need a single spline to extrude.  It's just that your inner profile has a gap in it:

zoom in and you can see the gap:

close that gap with a short line segment, and you can select the inner profile:

Few things Jeff did not mention,

Your shape for the initial spline has tight corners that scale to less than Zero radius and the result is sharp corners, sharp corners in spline - not easy to get without separate splines.

The open gap on the inner ring comes from the spline end points that are not square to the centre line, or tangent to a helper line.

More efficient to mirror the body.

Might help....

Thanks to everyone who responded!   I did not realize that the offset command resulted in gaps.   The problem is resolved.

Thank you!
