how to connect between 2 curved edges

I have 2 arcs, and I want to create a flat edge of a fixed size: Essentially move the 4.94 mm line so that it connects to both blue arcs while remaining vertical. I can't seem to get it to work. I can free-hand it, but I'd rather have it exact. I've tried various constraints, but can't seem to get them to do what I want. Any ideas? Thanks!

Use the coincident constraint in the sketch palette to connect each line ends to one of the arcs.

Make sure that these arcs and the rest of your sketch are fully constrained and dimensioned.

Sorry, I guess I'm just missing something. I choose the line, choose coincident, and then it won't let me choose anything else.

1. Share your model!

2. Are the arcs part of the same sketch ?

No, wrong selection. You want the Endpoints of the line to be Coincident to the arcs.

Start Coincident Constraint command:

1. Pick first line Endpoint and pick arc.

2. Pick second Endpoint of line and pick second arc.

(But I recommend fully defining those arcs first or they might go bonkers.)

Here's my model, although when I click on the link to test it, I don't see anything. I created 3 circles, then trimmed them to get the egg...ish shaped design. So I think that they are all the same sketch? The model only shows one sketch.

Thanks!

Thanks, that worked! I didn't see that I could select the end points.

If you would like for me to look at your file, then File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d file directly here.
