How to Combine Multiple Bodies into One

I've attached my F3D file for reference.  I'm trying to sketch tabs onto the bottom of text as I did for the number "1" in the attached file.  That was easy.  What is troubling is sketching a similar tab onto the numbers "3" and "0".  I'm struggling to find a way to make a sketch that applies to both bodies that make up the number "0" and the two number "3" bodies that are pertinent?  I've spent the last five hours trying to figure this out so it isn't like I haven't put in the effort.

Thanks

Not real sure what your asking.  let's start with the attached. is that something like what you want.  might help if we understood the reason for the tabs

Thanks for responding.  The numbers are for a address sign.  The street name is on a rectangular plaque and the numbers will be attached with screws thru the tabs to the top of the plaque.

How did you combine the two bodies?  I looked at your sketch but don't understand how you did what you did.

Thank you.  The screencast showed that projecting the points to the top surface was the key.  The remainder was simple sketching.
