How to Combine A LOT of Lines into One???

The sketch I am working on has about a bajillion individual lines (splines) that I would like to combine into more meaningful segments. It seems like a very simple operation, but I cannot figure out how to do it despite a lot of internet and CAD forum searches.  Does anyone know how this can be done?

... Problem is, there are other stl files I need to go through the same exercise with.  I...

Can you explain what the ultimate goal of the modifications is?

What modifications do you want to perform?

Is a mesh file acceptable as the output?

Thank you @TheCADWhisperer !  I will look through this file and work on editing the face groups...

The goal is to ultimately scan auto parts that are no longer in production and modify them for enhanced performance that will then be made via CNC and/or welding.  The mesh files would come from handheld scanners, which typically only output mesh files.

How do I remove the big gold sphere?  I tried splitting it but it says the sphere doesn't overlap the other object.  But, it doesn't let me select the sphere and delete it... 🤔

That is an anomaly.

I would go back to the original stl and experiment with editing the Face Groups before converting to solid. Also, I did not run Repair before Generate Face Groups.  Might try a Remesh too.

I think a better result can be obtained, but probably not a “perfect” result.

Hi Mr Fab_Things,

You are facing ... a common dilemma.
Fixing an overpopulated sketch by pairing points is certainly the first thought ... but think ... they might create another one in the middle. Such process is used by many semi-intelligent scanners ,,, and not only ....
Occasionally, it might be quicky but not necessarily beneficial in the long term.
In your sketch, click on 'white' points and merge them by applying coincidence constraint (sketch39)

What is the alternative? Apply intelligent measures and organize/under-populate the object. Redraw the sketch, which, in your case, is quite simple. When you look at emerged dimensions and symmetries, you will be pleased! (sketch40 ... unfinished)
