How to bulge a circular button with an embossed shape in it?

Hello everybody,

I'm reaching you today because I cannot find any resource or similar problem to mine.

Here is where I'm stuck:

I have a model imported from .stp and I have to do some slight modification to it. Most of the modifications are done but there's still one that I don't manage to do. It is a simple button with a circular shape with a kind of lightning embossed engraved in it. The top of the button is plane and I would like to bulge it of 1mm keeping the lightning engraved as I don't have the model reference of it.

What I tried is to do it with a loft but without any success because of the embossed shape in it. Also I tried to edit face and push the center point to 1mm. Basically it is working but the issue is that, because in this mode it is a square to edit the shape, creating a kind of wave all around my button which is logical as the corner of the square are not following the circular shape.

Edit face looks like the solution but is there a way to have it circular and avoid these waves cut all around?

Thanks a lot

If you could share your design (export as .f3d and attach to your next post)  I can show you how to do it.

I already followed plenty of your answers / screencast through the forum for different solution and I have to say that your explanations and demonstrations are always very helpful and instructive 😉

Here is my .f3d with the button to bulge in it.

Thanks a lot, TrippyLighting, it is more than helpful! I even discover some new ways to work with Fusion thanks to you.

I guess the “edit face” approach was the wrong one or not the most adapted one. My learnings are that the “edit face” functionality is essentially for rectangular shape and not a circle where it should altering the border limit.

I'm gonna try to reproduce it as a learning and training.

Thanks a lot again with your help!
