How to add mass to a component comprised of subcomponents

After combining 3 subcomponents to form 1 component:

1- I looked at the properties and the physical materials used was "various" when all 3 subcomponents used to create the major component were of the same physical property.....How do I make the major component show a single physical material?

2- When comparing weight of the real component and the simulated major component, the simulated one was too light (mass value too small) so I chose to increase the density of a new physical material to be applied to the major component, but the only new value I could insert was 0.001. It appears that the density value only extends to three decimal places. The new value for density I must insert is 0.0019424674074074 in order to get the correct mass desired. What must I do differently to achieve my new accurate mass value based on increased density?
