How to add centerlines to an ellipse on a drawing

I have a simple ellipse that I want to use as a template. I created a simple solid then created a drawing. I need to accurately locate the two axes but have not found a way to either create a line in design mode that ends up in a drawing view nor have I found a way to add it in drawing mode. I have had this issue with not square views and have not found a way around it.
