How to add a shape to an angled plane.

I think this is a basic skill in F360, but I could not find a similar question/forum post.

The part I am trying to design/replicate has a triangular nub sticking out from one of the surfaces (see pic). Only one surface of this part is aligned to a drawing axis, and it is not the surface where I am trying to add the nub. The pic I've included is my best attempt thus far to add the nub. However, there are multiple issues with my approach: the nub is in no way "connected" to the angled surface, and the lines of the nub are not parallel to the surface its being attached to. This is most evident when looking at them bottom edge of the nub where it runs along the angled surface - this edge points in some wacky direction (not a display/parallax issue, the bottom edge truly is not related or parallel to the bottom edge of the angled plane).

My attempt was to create a mid-plane that cuts through the center of the angled surface, but I suspect my method for doing so ends up with the new plane being "not perpendicular" to the angled plane where I am trying to add the nub.

What principles/techniques for using F360 am I missing out on here?

Any examples, or similar drawings, that can help me out?

thanks,

m.

Hi,

Please show on the picture of a real object what you want to achieve in the end and share the file.

File > export > save as f3d on local device > attach to next post

Here are the files you requested. The picture is a bit blurry because the camera does not take a good close-up photo, but the nub is upside-down in this picture relative to the orientation of the part in F360.

I hope this helps.

thanks,

I would sketch directly on the face, extrude and it looks like your piece is tapered so I would use draft.

This is perfect, THANKS!!!!

I knew is must be some built-in feature (Draft) but I never knew what Draft was or was for.

This is why I love online support communities.

Thanks, from a true beginner!
