How to add 3D textures?

Hey all, I would like to add a 3D texture (bump map) to certain faces of my model so I can 3D print it. Is there anyway to do this in fusion or mesh mixer etc?  Using a black and white or uv texture image

I’ve tried messing around with the image2surface plugin but couldn’t really seem to get it working properly.

This can be done in Blender

What you are looking for is not a bump map, as that only modifies the surface normal to create the visual illusion of a 3D texture.
What you are looking for is a displacement map. That cannot be done in Fusion 360 alone. I've created a video on how to do that with the help of Blender a while ago:

I did actually find that video but it uses such an old version off fusion and blender all the menu's are different and I had alot of trouble following it.

Im reasonably competent in Fusion but have never touched Blender before.

I would suggest you you use Autodesk Meshmixer for this.

Export your model as a highly faceted .stl and apply a texture in Meshmixer. If you google "Meshmixer leather texture" you'll find some instructional videos that should help you.

As you are 3D printing this, there is no reason to get this back into Fusion 360 after texturing.
