How to access the section geometry of a solid ?

I try to explain with my poor English exposing a simplified example.
I have a solid, a hollow pyramid and I want to work on its horizontal section geometry at a certain height.
I can create an horizontal offset plane and use it to cut the solid, the I can create a sketch and work on the section of the pyramid, for example I have the external perimeter at internal shape at the desired height.
Can I access the same geometry without cutting the solid ?

There is no need to cut the solid.

Just select "Slice" to be able to see the edges and cut surfaces.

Use Project-Intersect to project references from the body.
