How make subcomponents into separate components

Hi I'm having a problem with trying to make a subcomponent of a component into two sperate components. I want to make 'tool box v2' and 'Tool Box Tray:1' into two separate components part of assembly

You are halfway there, Tool Box Tray:1 exists.

Make Tool Box v2 a component, by following Rule No.1.

Start a file with 2 components, by making 2 components.

Activate each one when adding detail to each Component.

If you are talking about the body 1 in the top level component, then your out of luck it being a Sheet Metal body, cut and paste is prevented.

I think I will start over, I've read about assemblies, components and bodies and kind of understand what is did wrong; but thanks anyway:)
