HOW DO YOU GET ONE DESIGN DONE IN 360 INTO ANOTHER DESIGN IN 360?

Having trouble getting a logo design done in Fusion 360. Into another design also done in Fusion 360. I've tried inserting it as SVG, a Canvas where I get access only to the jpg I previously traced but not the traced version all to no avail. Should I use decal?

Hi,

Decal is only optical e.g. for rendering.
If you want to create an object you need a vector file (DXF, SVG ...) .

Please share the file > SVG and f3d.

File > export > save as f3d on local drive  > attach it to the post

There are a few ways to get your model into another model file, the video will show two of these methods.

I was able to get the logo into the design and move it to the correct location but not able to scale.

I did you a video on how to Scale it.  You did not say how much you wanted to scale it, up or down, so I just picked something.  Since you linked the logo into another model, it is an External file.  Depending on your Fusion 360 License, you may have to open the external file to scale it.  With a Subscription license, you can scale the external model in place, you will see the Edit in Place icon beside the file in the Browser in my video.  You can also Break Link to the External file but I do not think that is what you want to do because of your original question.  All shown in the video.

I only have a personal use license not a professional one. I will try your suggestions and let you know what happens. Additionally I may redesign my logo so we'll see how that works out as well.

An aside question. What program or app are you using to do the videos and is it mac compatable?

i am using Techsmith Snagit and yes it is compatible with MAC.  It is a subscription application.  The company also offers a free recording utility, with less bells and whistles, called Techsmith Capture.

Ok so I tried the version where you scale it in the current design and that didn't work, probably due to the program I have. I'm going to try to do the second version. I downloaded the software you refered and hopefully can get it working so that you can see what I see when I am trying these techniques.

Please forgive the late response. I hurt my back and am awaiting a surgery date so the pain has been a daily challenge. I downloaded the software you suggested and am not sure of how to work it but I will try this evening

Go back and look at message 9, in this Forum post, and use the web link I gave you.  The download is there.

I have no idea what you are trying to say.  I asked you what format the Video was in by asking the file extension.  Is it MP4, AVI ?  Why do you not express yourself instead of writing in code?

I was able to drag and drop them onto my desktop. Is it possible to save it in another format?
