How do you set constraints/parameters so that sketch geometry will resize itself when a text feature is changed?

I tried to make a parametric box on the bottom of a line of text to join the letters together (for 3D printing). I used a collinear constraint to get the end of the box in line with the bounding box of the text. However, when I change the text, the rectangle is no longer collinear with the bounding box of the text.

 Screencast here: https://autode.sk/2lHs4tc

It seems like the text is recreated from scratch and loses all constraints every time it is edited.

Is there any way to get the model to resize with the text so I don't have to manually resize it every time I change the text?

You are correct - apparently, constraints/dimensions to the bounding box of a text object seem to not get preserved when the text is edited.  For now, there does not seem to be a workaround.  I'll log that bug.  Thank you for reporting it.

Defining text height as a parameter looks like it is intended to work, but it doesn't.  That is, text height can be set to a parameter value (it accepts the parameter), but changes to the parameter have no effect.  Can you add this to the 'bug list' for future corrections?

Thanks,

DLS

Fusion 360 added more text functionality. I think the question needs to be checked for what problems still exist and reposted.

I might not fully understand the featureset but I'm having a similar issue.

I am making custom keychains with people's names.

I would like to constrain my drawing so that as I put in different peoples' names, the length of keychain changes.

It seems like

1. The textbox length doesn't automatically change with the length of the actual text in the box

2. If I try to constrain the length based on how much buffer space I want to the left and right of the text, Fusion complains that the drawing is overconstrained (even though there are no other constraints on the length.
