How do I start and end this thread?

I'm trying to design the neck of a soap dispenser. I found the spec in the 4th page of this document: https://www.thecarycompany.com/media/pdf/specs/68W26B.pdf. I created the thread, but it starts and end on a wall, not a smooth transition from the shaft:

How can I make it start smooth, emerging from the central shaft?

Here's my model: https://a360.co/3r2JSAK

The way I do it is this:

  1. Select the end face of the thread
  2. Create a sketch
  3. Project the end face to the sketch
  4. Add a revolve axis
  5. Create a revolve of an appropriate angle using the projected profile and the axis

See attached.

Hope this helps.

I've created a Windows application for creating custom thread files for Fusion. You can find out about it here. Hope you find it useful.
