How do I set 3D sketch line direction

Hi,

is there a workaround for following problem?

I want to create a 3D sketch which is full parametric (for example a cube with parametric length along all axis).

After i created a line with the "move tool" which is not on the initial plane  i cant change its length afterwards, I cant even change the direction with the "move tool" anymore.

Is there a chance to create a new line along an axis?

cheers,
Kevin

ok found it myself I guess...

just draw the line while it is "snapping" to the axis

and before you enter it set the variable-name in

now you can change it afterwards

But

you cant set constraints to it afterwards, like equal length with other line etc. !

is there a better solution?

ok, doesnt work as planned...

after I changed the length of a single diffrent parameter, cube like 3D-sketch lost directions and almost all lines where crooked (not in axis direction)...

is there a possibility to set a constrain to a 3D-line and change it afterwards etc.?

cheers,
Kevin

EDIT: i cant even set points in the middle of sketch lines whiche are not on the initial plane? Which makes the 3D-sketch "unusable"?

3d sketches do not have profiles, dimensions or constraints, and for your project you are finding that out.

Life will become simpler with many 2d sketches to get the job done.

Might help...

You can use Parametric features to locate positions in space.   In the example above, you could Sweep a line to 50% to locate the midpoint.    In the design of a kingpin assembly, I needed to be able to adjust the camber, incline, etc dynamically through portions of the build; this was achieved with a combination of Construction features, Sketches, and "locator Bodies" - that is, Bodies which help locate/develop the form but which do not make up a visible part of the target Component.    For sure, 3D Sketching recommends a number of capacities that aren't present; the way to get the job done with Fusion is to be aware of those limitations and exploit other capacities to arrive at the same destination; often as not, that means exploiting Fusion's core strengths, Parametric and Solid Modelling, in place of or support of Sketch placement.
