How do I make a hole in the shape of an object?

https://a360.co/40tzcu9

This is a link to my model.

The orange thing is a camera that should be put into a slot at a certain angle. I have already adjusted it and made 1% bigger so that the camera can fit nicely.

I am now looking for a way to cut a hole in that shape.

I don't know how, and my mesh is not filled, so it may only cut like a laser, I guess.

How could I handle this?

I guess the problem is that the mesh is not on the same level as Body1 and Body2, but I can't move the object to this group.

Try to convert the mesh o solid first.

Or upload your file here.

Go to Mesh Environment, and create Mesh Section Sketch (2)

One for the outline and one for the cross section. (Outline is an irregular shape very close to a slot.)

You then Edit those Sketches and trace with Fit Curves to Mesh Section.

Sweep > Cut the Profile with Path and Guide Rail, to get the bevel to transfer into the plate, correctly.

Might help.....

I converted the mesh to solid, but only a surface body was created.
So I transferred the outer contours to a sketch with "Intersect".

With this profile you can cut out the plate.
