How do I get Fusion to work on a mac without installing 3rd party browsers?

I am using fusion on my mac but it will not login on. There does not seem to be a login screen in the app! Instead it is reporting that It is launching a browser window(!).

First issue, no such window was launched. The support pages seem to suggest installing Google software (Chrome?!). There is no Google/Microslop software is on any of our macs … does this mean that Fusion is not compatible with macs unless we also have Google software?

The ‘chat’ facility on the support page was a bust. Quite quick to reach a human (excellent) but the human, although very nice, lacked the resources when it comes to tech support despite the link coming from the tech support pages.

I wondered if it was because I was using an old version of the software so I tried to re-install … and that failed as well.🙄 There were write permission issues … a log file … and a link to these forums. I scanned the log file and came to a section towards the end that contained several lines similar to ...

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/Users/Shared/Jenkins/9552e121/fusion/Streamer/src/adsk/dls/streamer/process/process.py

My question now also becomes …who is Jenkins???? How is it, according to the log, trying to write a file to a location that does not exist because the user does not exist!

How do I get Fusion to work on a mac without installing 3rd party browsers?

Thanks

What Mac hardware and macOS version are you trying to install Fusion on?

No 3rd party browser needed. Safari should work without a problem.

I just revived my mid-2017 MacBook Pro by installing macOS Sequoia using OpenCore Legacy Patcher, then installed Fusion with no problems.
