Hi,

I have been meaning to make a iphone case that bears a simmular pattern to a flash drive I use.  If anyone can help me with my design challenge, feel free to help me.

Thanks

Is the surface of the pattern flat, or does it have depth.  If the latter, how will you make it?

p.s. See attached file.

See attached file. It shows how to crate the base geometry for a single hex tile.

You take it from there 😉

Either the file I attached or the file @TrippyLighting attached has your solution.

One Component.

One Sketch.

Two Extrudes.

Two Patterns.

Although, if you tried to pattern this over a larger surface, it might bog down the program.

One Component. Hopefully this needs no explanation.

One Sketch. Include the rectangular base, a hex of the desired size and orientation, and a construction line for the direction of each pattern that will be made in the future.

Two Extrudes. First the block, and then the hex (use a negative taper setting) as a cut into the block.

Two Patterns. First a rectangular pattern of the cut hex feature in one of the directions to get a line of them across the block. Second a rectangular pattern of both the cut hex feature and the first pattern, in the other direction, such that the block is completely covered with recessed hexes.
