I thought this would be the simplest of tasks.  Make a drawing of a trapezoidal prism that shows its (nice even) dimensions in centimeters.  I can get the sketch (which I can only seem to include the front face) to be controlled by and display the correct dimensions.  I can get a body created by extruding to the designated dimension, but that is only displayed while extruding.  I have found no way to display both the sketch's and body's dimension except by creating a drawing from the design, which looks like it would/should work, but the dimensions are all wrong making the whole process (worse than) useless.  Can Fusion 360 truly not do something so fundamental and simple?  Do I really have to use a different program altogether?

Hi @coleSPSP5,

From your post, I think I understand that you are trying to make a 2d sketch of a trapezoidal prism with dimensions in centimeters. After extruding you want to show both the sketch and solid body dimensions together. Also, when you create a drawing from the design, the dimensions are incorrect.
This is what I understand, but if I misunderstood, please correct me:

  • When you want to display sketch and solid body dimensions together, I think a better way is to make both the sketch and dimensions visible. There may be a better approach that I might not be aware of.

  • Regarding the issue where the dimensions are incorrect in the drawing, can you attach the design that is causing the issue in Fusion? You can export the file by going to File > Export and selecting *.f3d format to your local drive, then attach it here in a reply.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply if you can't figure it out?
