How can I execute a "partially" angled extrusion step?

I'm in the process of designing an enclosure and encoutered this issue. I'm not being able to figure out a way to remove the section in red. Thanks in advance and my apologies for the ignorance. How can I make this step so my construction will become somewhat hollow?

What I need as final result:

You might getaway with a simple extrude cut to object feature.

If your cut isn't parallel to the top surface, just insert a construction plan and use this as target.

Thank you so much for your time and effort. Im sorry for the late answer, really appreciate this lesson and the fact you made a tiny video! I’m a visual learner, so thanks a lot!
