How can I easily move a component in relation to another?

Not sure why it seems so complicated to do such a simple task. I am trying to move the tan "battery" component in my model in relation to the slots it is meant to be inserted into. For some reason the regular free move works but that isn't precise. Point to point works until I press "ok" and then the component jumps back to a random origin point for no reason? It also seems difficult because the battery has smoothed over corners so I can't select the true edge I want.

I feel like I am missing a far easier way to do this.

Thanks for any help!

You should be using joints not move. Take a look through the help on Assemblies.

Thank you i'll check it out.

To be clear, you use joints for basically everything that puts one component in relation to another? Im clearly still new, to this point I have mostly used joints for screws etc from McMasters catalog.

Yes, a joint is way more powerful\useful than move and align. All my assemblies are built with joints, I don't use move with components at all.
