how can I add my file & version to parameters?

I want to take my current file and version and add it as extruded text to the part so I can always find the corresponding design, are there any build in parameters or expressions that allow me to do this?

Welcome to the Fusion 360 community! 

I think it is impossible to import/export of parameters value so far. May I know why you want this functions? I'm not sure but if we would be able to find a workaround. 

How about this? 

If you want to keep the extruded text, you just saved the file like templates and whenever you need the text file, you can use it by "Save as".  here is my video please take a look at it.

sorry for the late response, I just realized that I did not answer the question.

The reason is that I'll send models in for testing, and later on I want to be able to trace those models back to a drawing version. The testing I'm looking at would take months, so memory won't serve all that well. If I can ensure that each model printed has the information on it to trace it back to the drawing them I close the feedback loop.

Hi,  I need exactly the same feature : I want my prototypes (3D printed) to reflect the model version and I also thought of having a parameter that I can use in a text to emboss on my model. It would be ideal. Have you found an option to do that ?
