Holes appearing in Solid Model

Recently I have been getting holes appearing in my solid models. The screencast shows the problem. You can select through the hole to  the face on the other side of the model. Restarting fusion seems to clear this up temporarily. Never had this problem before the last update.

Yes, I'd consider this a bug of sorts.

Fusion 360s LOD (level of detail) algorithm needs finetuning. I've noticed this as well when working on this model.

It would not be such a problem if this would only be a viewport rendering issue, but it is quite visible as well in renderings as also noted in this thread.

It looks like they've update LOD algorithm very recenty. Look at this tread, it's another example: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/artifact-shows-up-when-zoomed-in/td-p/6053779

Hi donsmac,

Is it possible you could please attached the model here. We want to reproduce it in our lab? This looks like a model specific issue.

Thank!

I've attached the model. The holes are not appearing after reopening it, however still getting white dots over the surface of the model. The enlarged screenshot below shows the dots.

Hi donsmac,

Thanks for your great support! The issue is fixed, and will be shipped in next Fusion release.

I'll make sue to check that. The tessellation problem has been round for an while and  to a comment that was made earlier, this is not model specific.

Its simply that the compound curves in this model highlight the issue better.

I did not see the holes, or white dots but I did see  the segmented lines on the edges of the model. I independently created a similar model as both of us helped out another user. My model showed the same behavior and it's not the only model that does that.
