Hole tool bug.

If you have a hole feature that uses points as the hole centre references and you delete the points for some reason you can't reselect new points. When you edit the hole feature it defaults to face selection and there's no way to change it to From Sketch multiple points even though the prompt on the hole dialog says missing face or points.

That's a good find, @HughesTooling, you seem to be on a roll today.  Will log this one, too.

Just stumbled upon this one. It seems still not fixed.

What is the point of reporting if important features like this aren't fixed after 3 years?
Where can we read about progress on FUS-27111 and how to get around it.

This bug BREAKS modelling designs and adds hours of work to fix.

This is a mess. Please stop adding features and start fixing bugs like this.

@jeff_strater  Just run into this bug today and thought for a minute it had been fixed! 😀Now here's the crazy thing, if you only use 1 point in the hole feature you get the option to repick points if that point is deleted but if you have multiple points you don't!😠 Surely if it's this close to working correctly it can't be that hard to fix? See screencast.

Thanks Mark

@HughesTooling - FWIW, I did ping the team on this one again.  Hopefully it will see a bump in priority.  But, alas, they still won't let me set priorities for Fusion all by myself...  All I can do is advocate for things.  The more of you that see and report it, the better.

BTW, if you ever wanted to know what the equivalent of a red cape to a bull is for a software developer, it is:  " it can't be that hard to fix😆Good for at least a 10-point blood pressure spike...

this bug is in the process of being fixed now.  It will take some time to get the fix out of the pipeline, but it's coming...

Hi Mark,

The fix has finally landed to Fusion with June 2020 release.
You should be able to select new sketch points now, if you lose the original ones.

@rishabh.bisht @jeff_strater  Just got a chance to test this and it's not fixed.🙄 I had a duplicate sketch so deleted it thinking I could just reselect using a sketch that already existed and the bug is exactly the same as before, can't select the option from sketch.

Just did a bit more test and it seems like the problem is if you delete the sketch. If you just delete all points in a sketch and leave it empty you can reselect from a different sketch but if you just delete the sketch from the timeline you get the old bug where you can't use select from sketch.

Jeff,

Can you please detail where you guys hid the crumpled up post-it note detailing this bug such that Chad was able to find it and actually put some work in on it? This info might prove useful on getting one of the other 60,000+ bugs addressed before another three years goes by.

Asking for a friend...😂

@HughesTooling
Hi Mark,

Thanks for catching this and sorry for the trouble.

I can reproduce the problem and have shared this workflow with the development team to investigate.
