Hole Defect

It seems there is a bug with the hole command when placing a hole on the face of a cylinder. First I want to say that I love how easy it is to place a hole on a cylindrical face with a rotation value. No need to created a rotated work plane, and then a offset tangent work plane like I am used to.

Rotating the hole on the cylindrial face works well the first time by keying in value to change the center angle, or if you use the onscreen manipulator to change the center angle.

However, if you key in a value for the center angle, that value will be the default the next time you try to place a hole on the cylindrical face. This doesn't happen if you use the on screen manipulator to change the center angle. The hole still seems to be placed on one of the quadrants of the cylinder, but you have to do some math to get the desired rotation angle.

Here is a Screencast to better show the issue.

Thanks Joel. For now, using the maniuplator is an easy workaround (as long as you don't need an oddball angle value).

Was this fixed in the latest update? It doesn't seem to have been. I don't know what the defect number was, but it appears it was sent to development.

Thanks,

Here is a short Screencast of the issue I am seeing. If you use the onscreen manipulator to set the center angle, everything works as expected. If you enter a center angle in the dialog, the next hole that is placed starts at the previously entered value as the 0 angle. The onscreen manipulator works as long as the angle you want is divisible by 5, otherwise you have to use the dialog box value and that messes with the next hole.

Hello Kevin,

Thank you for checking in.  This issue is still be investigating at the moment so it didn't go into the current update.  I will check in with the team to see things are looking and when I know more about when we might see it I will respond here.
