Hiding sketches breaks joints in assembly

Anyone running into an issue where hiding sketches in an external component breaks all the dependent joints? I'm having serious issues in a fairly complex assembly with "Compute failed" messages coming up for any joint involving a part with a hidden sketch. This only happens to externally referenced components. I had to roll back the version and ignore "Get Latest". I also cannot work around it by breaking the link.

This sounds either like a bug or a limitation with linked files.

If my suspicion is correct the error should disappear when you break the link.

When I try it tells me that due to referenced features link breaking has been disabled.

Does the error go away when you show the sketch again in the linked component ?

If so, you either have to live with having the sketch shown, or you'll have to delete the joint, which is the reference Fusion 360 is complaining about when you try to break the link, and then break the link afterwards. Then you'll have to re-create the joint.

The course of action depends if you really need to work with linked components.

You could try to delete the joint, hide the sketch in the linked component and then try to create the joint not referencing the sketch.

The error persists if I show the sketch again. The first time it happened I wound up deleting and re-inserting all the components. Lost almost a day's work. I can't delete and redo individual joints as they won't compute unless I wipe out the whole component. I really don't want to lose another day's work as there are a dozens of downstream joints and features depending on two glitched components. I'd rather live with it and hope this is a known bug that might be fixed in the next update. Tried saving copies as a workaround but the copies show as not up-to-date and break everything if they update. If I was to do it over I'd break the link right away as I inserted them. Hindsight.....
