That sounds like a problem. Do you have any selection filter active?
Here is a video of the workflow, if this doesn't work for you can you make a video that shows your attempts?
Thanks,
I would like it to behave like your video.
I was able to select a surface and apply a dacal after drawing a rectangle and extruding to a minimum depth.
I'm not able to send a video at this time.
I'll do some more experiments on a new file.
At least I'm rid of the red borders!
Thanks
Thank you! That did the trick.
My first error is that I was using an attached canvas (which I still didn't see how to get rid of the red border.) Your menu got cut off in the video.
@Anonymous
The step you don't see in the video is my use of Camera commands to make the view "Perspective" for a more realistic look.
There is no way to avoid a red border on the attached canvas other than not to use one. The original post showed another customer using Attached Canvas when they really wanted what Decal has to offer. Once I explained it they considered that a solution to their red border problem.
Attached canvas: For placing and sizing an imported image for the purpose of modeling and reverse engineering workflows. These do not appear in renderings.
Decal: For placing an imported image for the purpose of showing graphic art on your model, such as a warning sticker, simulated display screen, company logo, etc.
What are you trying to use an image for in your design? Maybe it would help to know your intended workflow.
Understood on the differences. Thank you for explaining that.
I was just simply making a coin/poker chip with our company logo in the middle. All is well! Thanks again for your help.
