Hey Autodesk - Can you Help? Cannot create or open drawings.

I'm running the personal version of Fusion 360. I cannot create or open a drawing. Every time I try, the drawing workspace opens briefly and then closes and returns to the design workspace - without ever showing the drawing. There is some variation in this behavior and sometimes Fusion 360 goes unresponsive or just closes.

 

I've found that every time I try to open or create a document, a Windows Event is generated and the faulting application is AcCoreConsole.exe. The Exception code is  0xc0000374 and the fault offset is 0x00000000000ff199. The full event text is included below.

I've posted here a couple of times over the past week for ideas and help but haven't had much luck in finding a solution.

 

This seems to be an issue with AcCoreConsole, though I believe there is probably something suspicious with my computer. I just want to find a solution - Is there someone there that could at least identify what that particular exception code and offset are for? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I'm completely new to this but really like Fusion 360 so far. I think it's a fantastic program and seems to be amazingly powerful. But 2D drawings are essential for what I want to use it for. If we can't find a solution I'm left to either buying a new computer or finding a new program, neither of which is appealing to me!

 

I've done a clean uninstall / reinstall, both manually and with the cleaner app, twice, with no change in behavior. I've also tried every other thing that I can think of and have spent 3 full days trying to find a solution.

 

Can you please help?

Hi enfeitador,

Can you please check confirm if Trirong-Regular (FontBase) is not present in "C:\Windows\Fonts" ? Please share the mini dump files of AcCoreConsole.exe and Fusion.exe again after uninstalling the font. We'd like to check if there is any other blocker after uninstalling the font. Thanks

By the analysis of the new mini dumps, same issue is the same but with different font. May I know if there is any other new fonts installed and used activately? Please try to restore to default font setting and check if drawing works.

If issue is still there, please share the new dump files for further investiagtion. Thanks for your support.

 

Steps :

  1. Go to C:\Windows\Fonts -> "font setting".-> "Restore Default Font Setting".
  2. Restart machine.
  3. Try to create the new drawing.

One thing to notice is that I'm using the FontBase software as my font/typeface manager, maybe it's an incompatibility with it? https://fontba.se/

We will try to reach to the root cause.
Can you please confirm below things ?

1. It looks like font base are not installed properly on your machine.

2. Can you please uninstall and reinstall font base again ?
3. We have checked at our end and font base is not having an issue for us.
4. Can you please confirm once that on your colleague's machine everything works fine if font base is installed on his machine ?
5. Have you recently updated on windows OS ? and what is windows OS version?

A: I've installed it properly, just downloaded the .exe from the official fontbase website and ran the wizard.

2. Can you please uninstall and reinstall font base again ?

A: I did that, I even reinstalled Fontbase in another disk volume, it makes no difference, but indeed when I uninstall or close FontBase, drawings works fine. Once I activate FontBase, the issue comes back. 


3. We have checked at our end and font base is not having an issue for us.

A: Only works for me when I deactivate FontBase


4. Can you please confirm once that on your colleague's machine everything works fine if font base is installed on his machine ?

A: Unfortunately I don't have another machine to test, it seems to me like a FontBase compatibility problem.


5. Have you recently updated on windows OS ? and what is windows OS version?

A: I use an updated version of Windows 11, version 23H2
