Help with thread alignment (rotate doesn't fix)

I can't seem to get my threads to align. What am I doing wrong? I have tried rotating the part, as suggested on other forums. While rotating fixes the alignment in one dimension, it messes it up in a different dimension.

Aligned in XZ plane.

But not aligned in YZ plane.

Reverses when rotate, so that no longer aligned in XZ plane.

I believe I've used the same threading on both parts...

I've played around with swapping right hand / left hand combinations (both with right hand, both with left hand, etc.) but nothing seems to fix (I'm a little confused as to which combination it should actually be, but nothing seems to work)

Ah. I'll post the answer rather than delete, in case it helps someone else. I think it was because I defined the thread with an offset from the other end of the pipe, rather than defining the thread from the same edge. Defining from the same end fixed it.
