Help with sheet metal folding along a profiled strip

I was wondering whether there is a workflow to achieve the following.  Basically, I have a profiled strip of metal, which I have converted to sheet metal, but I am struggling to achieve a 90° fold due to the profiling.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

From your image you do not have a valid sheet metal part - not uniform thickness (missing bends).

Why are you using Sheetmetal? Is this a modeling exercise or are you looking to create this Bracket Bar is the workshop and need flat patterns?

To be honest, it was a modeling exercise to create a render of the finished component. The final product, however, would be produced from a pre-formed strip and then passed to the break press for folding. Most of the brackets we supply can easily be developed in sheet metal view, converted to laser profile, and then passed to press for folding. This got me wondering whether I could use the sheet metal function to add folds to the pre-formed strip. For the render, I reverted back to a bit of artistic license:-)

Hi,

If you create a sheet metal element from a solid via convert, you must ensure that bending radii are added if necessary.
For sheet metal elements that are created as a flange in sheet metal mode, this is done automatically according to the preset sheet metal rules.
