help with creating hollow text

Hello Guys, I am a complete beginner to the product. I have made a solid text and then extruded it and used the shell function to hollow it out. so the text has the walls and the bottom but no top. I want to make the top in a way so that it slots into the hollow and completes the all four walls. how can I do that bit?

You will have to describe this a bit more

so that it slots into the hollow.

Create a sketch on the top face of the shelled text.  Project the top face of all of the text to the sketch.  Extrude the inner enclosed boundary to double the shell thickness.  Extrude the outer enclosed boundary the shell thickness.   In the screencast I used negative extrudes.  It would be better to use a symmetric extrude for the inner and a positive extrude for the outer.

Sorry English is not my first language so I will try again.
You know how the lid of the cardboard box that your shoes come in, fits snug on the top of the box. I want the backside of the letter to fit but inside it instead of outside. Hope that makes sense

Just offset the inner edge of the text or you can also offset the outer edge.  If this isn't what you want, then draw a picture.
