Good morning all,

I urgently require some guidance on adding a feature to a model. Im not sure im on the right path but i will share an image below on what im trying to achieve.

Ive added an ARC to the edge that i want to extrude down the edge to create a rounded edge.

What would be the workflow for this?

Thanks in advance

Sweep, possibly with guide rail, or loft.

If you want more specific advice, please share your model. Export it to a .f3d file and attach it to a post.

Good morning,

Many thanks for your reply.

I have attached the file just now.

I tried the sweep with rail which was almost there but left an area where it wasnt quite together.

Thanks in advance

Sweep with these two rail selections, change distance option to Full Extents.

If requiring thickness, either use Thicken, or draw the required shape to supplement the curved face.

Click on down arrow, to select correct version.

Down arrow at Perpendicular, will allow Full Extents.

Might help...

Once you've arrived at a final shape, I would remodel this from scratch. This can likely be done with less than 1/3 of the timeline features.

I completely agree, this is the most complex i have got with fusion and is proving to be lots of trial and error with things thrown in that could be avoided.

Would it be possible to reach out to you directly on this? I completely understand if not.

Thanks in advance

I have remodelled from scratch with better success using the above methods. I greatly appreciate it!

The only issue im up against now is hollowing out my new model. I have used the shell tool but wasnt quite right and with the extrusion tool its of course on the angle.

Is there a suitable workflow for extruding that recessed area straight down?

Many thanks for your reply. I have attached it down below.

I am trying to hollow it and maintain a wall thickness of minimum 4mm or more.

Thanks in advance

I modeled this while I was waiting for your attachment.

I assume you want something like this.

You are doing too much work.

Start a new part file.

Create the sketch shown.

Attach progress file here for next step.

Your arc is missing a Radius Dimension.

Your angled line is missing a Coincident Constraint to the Vertical Line.

Note the color of the unconstrained geometry (your actual color might be different depending on the background color).

Do you want the curved sides to be uniform thickness from the shell, or do you want those inside walls to be straight and thicker?
