help please! thread feature in fusion 360?

is there a thread feature in fusion 360 for things like bolts and nuts. after watching a few instructional videos i noticed that they have a thread feature and i do not. I understand that there are full version and trial versions of this software but after reading through their student/educational community aids section of their website I noticed that becasue of my current occupation am Quallified for 3 free years to some of their software i.e. fusion 360. This being the case after signing up as a student and going through the process am I still only allowed to download the trial version and have that available to me for 3 years or do I get the next step up from that and aquire a more full version of the software?

In all honestly all I really want to do is just to finish the bolt and nut rendering that I have started with threads built in. Is there a way to make threads with out having a threads tool or would it just be better left alone?

thank you for your feedback

Hi Chevionthego,

When I look under Create, just under the Hole command I have the Thread command.  It sounds like you are not seeing the same thing?

In regards to your question about the differences between the trial, and paid version of Fusion.  We don't have a subset version of Fusion, so what you are currently using will be the same as someone who has a trial, or who is a paid subscriber.  There is no concept of full version and basic version for Fusion.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions related to this issue.  Hope this helps to clear things up.

I'm sorry I totally understand what was happening. I had never noticed that
there were different modes that you could be in I.e. "sculpt, model, and or
path." I have switched to the right mode now and can see the thread
command. Thank you. Another question though, what do each of the modes
cater to which phases of designing?

Based on what you have said, it sounds like you are in Direct Modeling

In Direct Modeling you have 3 environments that will help you with your design.

Sculpt - In the Sculpt environment you are able to leverage T-Splines forms for your design.

Model - In the Model environment you are able to leverage Solid bodies (B-Reps) for your design.

Patch - In the Patch environment you are able to leverage Surface bodies for your design.

Each environment has different ways to help you complete your design, and depending on what you are looking to acheive can help you to get there quickly.  There is a lot of information around these 3 different envirnoments inside of our help.

If you are needing more information about these environments and what they are capable of, we have additional resources at this link.  Fusion Resources

Again if you have any follow up questions please let me know, or if you have a new question feel free to create a new topic that can be followed up on.

Cheers,
