Help me to draw a Dodecahedron using sheet metal.

I have drawn this Dodecahedron, please see attached file

I would like to now draw it using sheet metal so that I can unfold it into a nest, what would be the best method to use ?

You need a Sheet Metal Rule, that guides you with thickness and bend behaviour.

With that in mind you create an Offset surface body, Thicken and then flat pattern.

Warning - won’t be exactly the same as the current one.  Huge pitfalls / learning curve ahead, figuring which edges to bend or not.

For what purpose?..are you really going to laser cut sheet steel say two pieces then fold and weld?

I left one Petal bent at only 60 degrees not 63.4 so you can see the sheetmetal workings

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to model and share the file, I have been through it and drawn it myself.

I was just going to wire edm the shape and bend it up on a fly press.

Im just fascinated by polyhedra.
