Having trouble splitting a body

Hey guys. I'm pretty new to all this and I'm trying to get some practice in. After creating a few small things I was trying to trisect a cube. It turned out to be a pretty good exercise but now I'm stuck at seemingly the last step. I created spirals to cut into the cube but I get an error: "coincident tools would create illegal or non-manufacturable bodies".

Where did I go wrong and how can I fix this?

Hi @Lehrer_Account

Please try using "Combine" feature. It sounds crazy, but the this feature also has cutting.

Refer to image below:

P.S. Really nice outcome you have there! Good job!

Another tip here to make creating the helix easier.

Use a surface sweep with twist and then thicken the helical surface. Often much easier to control than the dreaded coil feature and it creates cleaner geometry as well.

Thank you both for helping out and thanks for the compliment. I ended up having to go with the second solution and the sweep tool. Because with the first option I was unable to move the sections it created around. It stayed as one object with a piece cut out. So in this case the other option was better.
