Having issues getting sketch text to cut into face of part

I'm trying to put text onto a face so I can engrave the part. I create the text in sketch but when I try and cut the text onto the face it keeps giving me an error saying "There was a problem combining geometry together. If attempting to Join/Cut/Intersect, try to ensure that the bodies have a clear overlap". See attached picture. Any idea what i'm doing wrong?

It would help if you can attach an f3d file of your model to investigate.

That font has problems in this area.

On the sketch editing screen, right-click on a letter and choose Explode Text to break down the letter so you can edit the line.

Trimming in this way allows for cutting.
